About the Tour

Day 1

Our Best of Balkan tour starts in Croatia’s capital city, Zagreb. Later, we will explore the old town and its parks, museums, galleries, and other interesting sites. Overnight in Zagreb.

Day 2

Our first destination in Bosnia and Herzegovina is Jajce, the former capital of Bosnia from medieval times. Then, we’ll visit the amazing Pliva Waterfalls. We will also visit Jajce’s famous historical sites. For example, Jajce Citadel, Medvjed Kula, Mithraic Temple, Tower of St.Luke and Catacombs with Mosque of Esma Sultanija. In the evening we’ll go to Sarajevo where we’ll spend the night.

Day 3

First, we will explore the old streets of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital city. Then, we’ll visit Baščaršija, the old part of the town that is considered to be the border between the Eastern and Western world. We’ll drive through the Tunnel of life that protected Sarajevo in the 1990s war. In the evening we’ll drive to Beograd where we’ll spend the night.

Day 4

Our daily tour starts with sightseeing in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. We’ll visit Kalamegdan fortress, Knez Mihajlova Street, and one of the largest churches in the world, St. Sava. Our last stop is Dedinje where famous Yugoslav president Josip Broz Tito was buried. In the end, overnight in Belgrade.

Day 5

The fifth day of our tour starts with Skopje, the capital city of North Macedonia. We’ll explore the old town and its famous stone bridge, fort Kale and Railway clock. We’ll finish the day with an overnight in Skopje.

Day 6

Our first destination is Lake Ohrid that is half North Macedonian half Albanian. We’ll visit St.Naum and enjoy the monastery. We’ll spend the night in Ohrid.

Day 7

In the morning we’ll visit Tirana, Albania’s capital city. After sightseeing in the town, you’ll have some free time to explore it yourself. In the end, overnight in Tirana.

Day 8

Our next stop is Kruje, a small town in the mountain overlooking the Adriatic Sea. First, we’ll take a walk through the bazaar. Then, we’ll visit the Skenderbergs fort which is now a museum. To end the day we’ll head to Budva where we’ll spend the night.

 

 

Day 9

After Budva, our next destination in Montenegro is the bay of Kotor. After exploring the old town Kotor we’ll head to Dubrovnik, one of Croatia’s most beautiful cities.

Day 10

We’ll explore Dubrovnik’s most famous sites. Then, we’ll take a walk through the old town and Stradun, everyone’s favorite place to take a walk in Dubrovnik. We’ll also visit Onofrio’s Fountain, Franciscan monastery, St.Blaise church, Rector’s Palace and many others. Overnight in Dubrovnik.

Day 11

In the morning, we’ll visit Mostar to experience a dash of the Orient and see its historical bridge. Then, we’ll walk through the charming bazaar and visit Old Bridge Museum. Enjoy the amazing view of the city from Koski Mehmed- Pasha Mosque. We will visit the Turkish House where you can see the medieval architecture of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Our daily tour ends in Split where we’ll spend the night.

Day 12

In Split, you’ll have a chance to see the amazing Roman architecture and beautiful Diocletian’s Palace that was built in 305. when the Roman emperor Diocletian moved in Split. Our next stop is Zadar, Dalmatia’s former capital city. Then, we’ll drive to Plitvice Lakes to spend the night.

Day 13

In the morning visit of Plitvice lakes, one of Croatia’s most famous UNESCO sites. Our next stop is Postojna, Slovenia’s astonishing, 21 kilometers long cave system. In the end, overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 14

Our first stop is Bled, a beautiful lake in the Julian Alps. You’ll have some free time to relax or explore the caste and a small island. Later, we’ll also visit Lake Bohinj. At the end of the day, we’ll return to Ljubljana for our last night there.

Day 15

In the morning you will be transferred to Ljubljana airport and that is where our Best of Balkan tour ends.
